Gesture. (Work in Progress)
Gesture. Impression. Paper
Created as sculptures, interpretations of the landscape, these images have been sculpted in unexposed photographic paper. Left to embody the light of their environment, in the same way the sun casts its shadows upon the surface of the land.
The visible indentations and fold marks reveal the subtleties and gestures mimicking the contours imprinted on the surface, becoming almost spherical. These sheets of paper have taken on an impression, encompassing an image imagined in the absence of an ‘image’; the traces left by gesture and movement the only visible sign.
